Talk Comix Welcomes You
Firstly, we would like to thank you all for visiting Talk Comix. This website has had one purpose and that is to create a one-stop-shop for all your comic needs with the U.K market primarily in mind. The U.K Comix scene has been growing steadily for about a decade after what was a strong decline in the popularity of the sequential art in the 90's. We hope to create a large U.K community here which can help launch and represent us on the world stage.
How Do I Sign Up?
As we would like to represent the entire U.K comix community it requires we have something suitable for the different users of the site. Each user will have a different set of privileges within the site. The users are broken down into three sets Fans, Artists and Publishers
Leaving a comment anywhere in the site is easy. To do this you have two very simple options:
1) Sign in with your facebook, if you have facebook you will be able to sign and leave comments anywhere within the site.
2) Sign up to the site, Once you do this you can use the social section which in effect is your own very private social network you will have all the capabilities that any facebook user has plus the abilities and privileges that come with the social networking built into the Talk Comix site.
None of this costs any money and is a completely free service provided by us. An important point to note is that none of your information is shared with third parties here and is completely secure.
If you sign up as an artist you will be given special privileges within the site to create and manage your own portfolio. This artists section has been especially developed and designed for the needs of the modern comic book artist. This means artists will find a multitude of useful ways to express and sell their work. The Gallery section allows artist to share any new art they would like to discuss. The accessibility of your work is totally in your control this means you can keep some work private while sharing other work with the public. You will also be able to have a portfolio review done on line with sign up publishers. There is also a job board where artist will be able meet publishers and apply for work.
If you sign up as a publisher you will have the ability to sell your comix/graphic novels within the site. No back stock is required as most of the work (if you so desire) will be done by Talk Comix to send and deliver your comics. This means it doesn't matter whether you are a big publisher with many titles or a independent publisher with just one title you will be able to distribute your work to a worldwide audience. Having a publisher account also give you a work space to meet artists, do portfolio reviews and find that critical penciler/inker/colourist that can help get your project of the ground.
